The next nine photos are of Rog's "new" car - a 1962 Crown Imperial Coupe! This car once belonged to Rog's late father, Stan, who had it stored in Colorado until 1996. Rog's sister bought the car from Dad, brought it back to Alaska and five or six years ago, ended up using it as collateral for a loan to purchase a bus that they turned into a burger/pizza drive-through.
Rog was browsing around Craig's List just after Christmas and found this car for sale out in the (MatSu) Valley. At first, he thought the car was just similar to the one Dad owned, but turned out to be the very same car! The seller was asking a rather steep price, but there was another car included in the asking price. Rog offered him a little more than half, for just the Imperial itself, but the seller refused. Rog let it drop, figuring it wasn't in GOD's plan for him to have the car.
Yesterday - Rog gets a call on his cell from the seller, who tells him he is ready to accept Rog's offer! So today, Rog went out to the Valley and brought home the Imperial :) It is such a cool car - needs work, but I'm really hoping we can restore it and actually use it during the warmer months.
Anyway - here are the photos from today...
